Device drivers are often updated to add functionality or increase performance. Usually, installing the newest driver is a good thing, but sometimes there is a bug in the driver software, or the new driver is incompatible with your system, and you'll want to go back to the previous version. Windows saves a copy of the old driver, so you can easily 'roll back' to the version that you know works. To roll back a driver in Windows Vista, follow these steps: A. Click the Vista orb to open the Start menu.
In the Search bar, type 'device' and then click Device Manager in the list of results. Click Continue when the User Account Control window pops up. In the Device Manager, click on the plus sign (+) next to the appropriate category, and double click on the device that needs its driver rolled back.
Go to the Driver tab, and click the Roll Back Driver button. Follow the system prompts. If the Roll Back Driver button is grayed out, that means there is no previous version of the driver to roll back to. You can visit the device manufacturer's web page and try to find an older version of the driver there. It's important to note that rolling back a driver installs whichever version of the driver you had loaded on your system, not the second most recent version. So if you had version 1.0 installed for your wireless keyboard, then you updated to version 3.4, rolling back your driver would reinstall version 1.0, no matter how many versions had been released between the two.

I have a real puzzle here everyone. Sudden log-out or restart and multiple apps crashing. Sometimes, 3 times every 2 hours. The machine: Macbook Pro (mid-2009, 8GB, 2.8Ghz, Intel Core 2Duo, El Capitan), I replaced the old HD 1.5 years ago with an SSD (87GB of 500GB free). To see if its a software issue, I removed unused apps, reinstalled the OS, cleared the cache.
In hardware, I've changed the graphics card, the battery, new fans, new RAM, cleaned the machine. It's practically new hardware-wise. I've tested it with and without external components (2nd monitor, dongles, etc.) and it still crashes. We worked on it for over a month, and the repair shop is also at a loss.
Before reinstalling the OS, it have me a panic report when it crashed. (Let me know if you want to see it). Now it doesn’t anymore. Software or hardware? Any clues and suggestions are most welcome! Mang0 MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), iOS 10.3.2 Posted on Jul 5, 2017 2:58 AM. Hi Mike, Here's one of the last panic reports I got.
You may be having additional problems due to the kernel extensions added. But the Apple report does not list any easily identifiable peripheral devices that those Drivers are driving. Things like USB drives, that move a lot of data, can occasionally malfunction and place that data in the wrong part of memory, causing sudden and unexplained crashes.
Even so, both 3dMark programs are well worth adding to your collection of benchmarking tools. THIS PROGRAM IS NOT FREE, THEREFORE IT IS MISREPRESENTED IN DOWNLOAD.COM!!! 9-1-1 cast.
This is why I asked what peripherals they were for. As for WebKit, you can stay away from web sites that seem to be poorly crafted and seem to cause Webkit to crash. You could also provide more Visibility into what is happening inside your Mac by downloading and running the little non-intrusive Utility etrecheck, and Share and post its report back here:.
Jul 6, 2017 6:57 AM. I have another crash report here from Calendar-which crashed times in a row while I was writing a new entry. It seems related to the HITookbox plug-in. (As I typed this, Safari restarted too. Arg.) Process: Calendar 2337 Path: /Applications/Calendar.app/Contents/MacOS/Calendar Identifier: com.apple.iCal Version: 8.0 (2092.3) Build Info: iCal-0000001 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process:??? Should I trash all files highlighted in red? Yes, that would be good for a start.
You have known adware, and some other items are too old or not installed properly. You seem to have enough RAM to avoid immediate problems, and some free disk space. You may soon (if you have not already) find that Time machine asks to delete ONE old Backup. Once you know this is going to happen, you should give it permission to do so forever, until you can get a larger drive.
Otherwise your backups may stall until you approve each and every needed deletion. You need to keep Flash Player up to date, or otherwise you are vulnerable to the frequent SCAM that says: 'Your Flash Player is out of date, so we have downloaded this new one for you (with malware attached). Download only with: System Preferences Flash Player -OR- directly from: get.adobe.com/flashplayer. Jul 7, 2017 12:52 PM.
Hi, thanks Grant, Mike, I've removed the adware and the other files you mentioned. Also updated Flash. Removed other Applications associated with external devices. But it is still crashing apps and logging out spontaneously. I have a crash report from Safari here: (It's quite long, so I placed it in an external doc so as not to burden the thread.) I ran Etrecheck again today, and the only thing to come up red was org.postfix.master. Nothing else is hooked up to my computer, and I am hardwired via Ethernet because there is something wrong with my Wifi card/antenna.
Download Driver Version 5.1.2535.0
Could this be related? I didn't think so. Thanks again for your thoughts, recs.
